Clare captain Gary Brennan has been nominated as the GAA/GPA Player of the Month for July.
It comes on the back of the Clondegad’s man displays for the Banner in their most successful run through the qualifiers that saw the County compete in the All-Ireland quarter-finals for the first time. At midfield Brennan played a pivotal role in a season to remember for the men in Saffron and Blue.
Tipperary’s Michael Quinlivan and Patrick McBrearty of Donegal are also in the running for the award which is sponsored by Opel. The winner will be announced next Tuesday.
John McGrath of Tipperary, Kilkenny forward Jonjo Farrell and Galway’s Daithí Burke are in the running for the hurling equivalent.
