Firefighters from Co Clare are featured in the first ever calendar produced by the National Retained Firefighters Association of Ireland (NRFA).

All proceeds from the Calendar will go towards the Irish Fire Service Benevolent Fund which was set up by the NRFA to assist its members or their next-of-kin financially at a difficult time when dealing with the loss of either spouse.

All the photos featured in the calendar have been contributed to the NRFA by Ennis based freelance journalist, broadcaster and photographer Pat Flynn. The photos feature members of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service attending various incidents over the years.

The photos in the calendar also form part of collection on a Facebook page that features Clare’s emergency services. The page was established and is edited by Pat Flynn.

NRFA Secretary Richard Kelly, who is a firefighter based in Kildare, said: “The Fire Service Benevolent Fund was set up by the NRFA to assist its members or their next-of-kin financially at a difficult time when dealing with the loss of either spouse.”

“We are hoping this calendar, which has some outstanding photos and images in it helps us raise those much needed funds for the benevolent fund should the worst ever happen,” Mr Kelly added.
