Clare T.D. Michael McNamara has been informed that the preliminary design of a Greenway linking Limerick City with Clonlara, O'Briensbridge, Killaloe and Scariff will go to tender next week.
Lough Derg and its waterways have always been at the heart of Scariff Harbour Festival but this year offers the most it’s ever had on a festival programme.
The first new tourism business on The Lough Derg Blueway, Derg Boat Trips, has been launched at the Waterways Ireland Regional HQ in Scariff, Co. Clare.
A series of capacity building workshops will be held during the coming weeks in relation to the Lough Derg Blueway, a proposed multi-activity recreational trail linking Lough Derg’s outdoor recreation, dining, accommodation, cultural and craft experiences.
€200,000 has been allocated under the Rural Economic Development Zones (REDZ) initiative for the marketing, development and promotion of The Lough Derg Blueway, which includes the soon to be completed Lough Derg Canoe Trail.
