Emergency services attending incident at Trump Doonbeg

Emergency services are dealing with an incident at the Trump International Hotel near Doonbeg in West Clare this evening.

It’s understood that a suspect package, reportedly containing a powder substance, was discovered at the property this afternoon. The alarm was raised shortly after 5.00pm.

The incident occurred just 12 hours after President Donald Trump’s son Eric left the hotel after a brief visit. Eric Trump left the property early this morning and departed from Shannon Airport

Gardaí responded to the scene along with units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Kilkee and Kilrush stations. The National Ambulance Service was also alerted.

The Defence Forces have also been requested to dispatch an Explosives Ordnance Disposal unit to the scene.

A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said: “we are currently dealing with an ongoing incident at a premises in West Clare. There will be no further comment at this time.”
