Clinical Reflexologist, Orthotist and Holistic Therapist Gráinne Staunton has been nominated for the 2026 Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Award.
Originally from SpancilHill in Co. Clare, Gráinne now lives in Claregalway with husband, Niall and four children, Conor, James, Michael and Sophie. Having originally studied biomedical engineering and adding a BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics as well as a reflexology diploma, her journey has been driven by the desire to genuinely improve people’s quality of life.
Alongside her successful business, 8ráBeo Holistics, Gráinne is a director of the Irish Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists, which works to raise the profile of the profession in Ireland. She was also recently announced as Emerging New Businesswoman of the Year by Network Ireland Galway.
A firm believer in the power of self-care, Gráinne makes reflexology and Reiki-infused yoga nidra (a restorative meditative practice) a daily non-negotiable. Experiencing the positive benefits these practices have on her own wellbeing gives her the ability and confidence to recommend them to others and she loves seeing the difference they can make in people’s lives. The full interview with Gráinne is available to read in the latest edition of Woman’s Way Magazine.
The Beko Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Awards are back in 2026 for an incredible 23rd year with Beko proudly supporting the awards for more than a decade. The Awards celebrate Ireland’s amazing mothers and shine a light on women who quietly and consistently make life better, for their families, society and everyone around them.
Open to mums throughout Ireland, the accolade gives spouses, children, relatives, friends and community groups the opportunity to recognise and reward the fantastic work mums do for their families and friends. A landmark event in the social calendar, the awards celebrate the strength, dedication and community contribution of mothers in Ireland.
Finalists will be treated to a fabulous afternoon at a special awards ceremony later in the year where the prestigious title as Beko & Woman’s Way Mum of the Year Award will be awarded. Celebrity Mum of the Year and a Special Recognition Award will also be honoured at the event. Each finalist will receive a top-of-the-range CaffeExperto bean-to-cup coffee machine while the winner will receive a €2,500 voucher to spend on Beko appliances.
