A Ryanair flight diverted to Shannon Airport this afternoon after the crew reported a ‘small technical issue’ with an engine.
Flight FR-4109 was travelling from Alicante in South East Spain to Ireland West Airport (Knock) in Mayo when the crew advised air traffic controllers in Shannon of their issue.
Ryanair flight FR-4109 was about 50 kilometres south east of Knock Airport when the crew stropped their descent. The crew also advised air traffic controllers they were working on resolving the issue.
It’s understood the crew reported a ‘small technical issue’ with the anti-ice system in an engine.
The crew of the Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 jet did not declare an emergency and did not request any assistance on arrival at Shannon.
The flight landed safely at 3.48pm. It’s not year clear whether the flight will continue its journey this evening.
*The aircraft repositioned to Dublin late on Saturday evening and reentered service. It’s understood the passengers were transported to Knock by road.
