The Cannonball Overland 4X4 Adventure sets off from November 13th to 15th for an unforgettable journey through County Clare, combining some of the west coast’s most striking scenery with great food, cosy fires, relaxed hospitality and that unmistakable Cannonball camaraderie.
This time the Cannonball convoy will feature an impressive line-up of 4X4s, ranging from classic and new generation Land Rover Defenders and mighty Ford Raptors to opulent Bentley Bentaygas and Lamborghini Urus.
Also joining the lineup will be the incredible Tesla Tank, which will be on display throughout the Cannonball 4X4 weekend – a real head turner and something a little different for spectators to see up close.
Favoured for their rugged good looks, commanding driving position and ability to tackle roads and terrain beyond the reach of the everyday car, SUVs and 4X4s are made for adventure.
The carefully planned route begins at The Lakeside Hotel in Killaloe and takes in the limestone landscape of the Burren, Fanore, Doolin, the spectacular Cliffs of Moher coastal route, Bridge of Ross and Loop Head Lighthouse.
Day two brings more standout driving through Clare, including Quilty Beach, Corkscrew Hill and scenic countryside routes, blending wild Atlantic coastline, iconic landmarks and roads that are often out of reach for regular cars.
Lunch on day one will be enjoyed at the Armada Hotel at Spanish Point, with its beautiful Atlantic views, before the group settles in for the night at Bunratty Castle Hotel. Dinner follows at The Creamery Bar & Restaurant in Bunratty. On day two, Cannonballers set off again from Bunratty with lunch at Vaughan’s of Kilfenora before returning to Bunratty Castle Hotel for a final evening of comfort, good food and stories from the road.
The Cannonball Overland 4X4 Adventure sees an array of both luxurious and off-road ready 4X4s. With up to 70 vehicles taking part, the weekend combines the comfort and character of these much-loved machines with a taste of genuine greenlaning and the chance to explore landscapes beyond the usual driving routes.
All Cannonball events throughout 2026 are also helping to raise vital funds and awareness for official charity partner Ronald McDonald House Charities Ireland. When a child is seriously ill and receiving hospital treatment far from home, Ronald McDonald House provides families with accommodation, care and support close to their child for as long as they need it. Since opening in Ireland in November 2004, the charity has supported more than 5,400 families. Up to the start of this year, Cannonball had raised over €2.3million for Irish children’s charities, with the events of 2026 set to add significantly to that impressive fundraising legacy.

In true Cannonball style, this road-trip goes the extra mile with breathtaking scenery, memorable stops, entertainment and that rare camaraderie that makes Cannonball road-trips truly unforgettable experiences. Tweed, wax jackets and flat caps are optional attire for the weekend, think country manor style, as the group embraces a relaxed autumn escape through one of Ireland’s most beautiful counties.
