Clare Public Participation Network is holding a public meeting and member registration evening on Wednesday June 15TH at 7.30 pm in the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis.
This meeting is open to the general public and will include an introduction to the purpose and work of the network by Sarah Clancy the PPN’s Coordinator.
Environmental Campaigner Theresa O’Donohoe, who is a member of the secretariat that organises the PPN’s activities in Clare called on community groups to join the PPN.
“Every day our County Council makes decisions that will affect our lives in the county both immediately and in the future. It is vital that the people who live in Clare use every avenue available to them to make their views known. The PPN allows us to put community people at the tables where decisions are made,’ Ms O’Donohoe said.
There will be an opportunity for those attending to get together with some of the community activists who were elected to represent them on Clare County Council’s policy making committees.
Members of Co Clare based community groups will be able to register to join the PPN on the night and existing members can re-register for 2016.
Groups wishing to join the PPN but not available to attend this event will be able to register online after June 15th on the PPN’s new website: www.clareppn.ie
