The Tulla Weekend of the Welcomes will take place from Thursday 24 August – Sunday 27 August 2017 with a variety of events in the parish and surrounding areas.
The schedule will include:
Thursday 24 August
8pm – Tulla Courthouse – Upstairs Room
Dr. Liam Chambers, Chair, History Department at Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.
Dr. Chambers will discuss the O’Molony Family in his entitled lecture Religion, politics and family: the O’Molonys of Kiltannon in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries
Dr. Chambers has lectured on the O’Molony family and the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Century in Ireland and is the author of numerous articles on the subject of migration from Ireland to continental Europe, intellectual history of the early modern period.
At present, he is working on a study of Irish Colleges, student and clergy in Parish from the late sixteenth century to the late twentieth century.

Cuimhneach an Chlair Lecture
The Cuimhneach an Chlair project is internationally recognised for the preservation of the rich oral history of County Clare. Their talk will discuss the interviews from some of Tulla’s citizens.
Saturday 26 August
10am – Tulla Courthouse, Upstairs Room
Genealogy Workshop hosted by Clare Roots Society members
Come along to find out how to get started on your family research and find out more about the local resources available in the County for doing so.
*2pm – Bird Walk, Eagle Hide, Mountshannon Harbour
Philip Brennan, Ornithologist and Guide
Philip Brennan will lead us on a walk and talk about the Mountshannon Eagles which have made their home along Lough Derg share.
