One of Clare’s largest employers is celebrating after being recognised with three major awards at the IDA’s annual Invest in Ireland Awards 2019.
Biomedical device maker Beckman Coulter employs 390 people at its site near Tulla, east Clare and it was the hardworking staff who were singled out for praise by delighted Site Director Orlaith Lawler who was on hand to receive the awards with some of her management team.
2019 is the second year of the Invest in Ireland Awards which are used to demonstrate excellence in all areas of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) activity in Ireland, and to celebrate businesses impact on the economic, social, environmental and cultural life of the country.
Beckman Coulter won the award in the categories of Excellence in Regional Investment and for Commitment to Sustainability. The company capped a highly memorable evening by also being awarded the top honour of the night – the Overall Grand Prix Award winner.
Commenting, Site Director Orlaith Lawler said: “We were delighted to win both the environmental sustainment and regional investment awards and then the Grand Prize award really was the icing on the cake. It is great to see the hard work and dedication of our team, both past and present recognised in this way. To be presented a hat trick of trophies is such a huge triumph for us all.”
The company last month received the Crefog award for environmental sustainability from the American Chamber of Commerce for the Mid-West Region.
