Clare cottage in line to be cheapest sold in Ireland this year

A cottage in Co Clare if sold next month will be the cheapest house purchased in Ireland at an auction this year.

With an asking price of €17,000 the two-bedroom house named Kernaig situated in Labasheeda. The picturesque setting overlooks Clonderlaw Bay. There has been great interest in the property with calls from Australia, Germany and the UK enquiring about the cottage which has been a full-time home for owner for the past thirteen years

A representative of auctioneers DNG Creedon said “The view alone is worth the money, and you could say we are throwing the house in for free. For the price of a car you could have a house, and everything that you earn could go into your pocket”.

It goes to auction on November 4th along with over thirty properties from Clare, Kerry and Cork. Auctioneers are confident that the house will sell on the day due to the competitive price which is down to a lack of appetite for housing in the area.
