Rescue services deal with multiple incidents

Emergency services have dealt with a number of incidents across Co Clare this afternoon.

Bathing restrictions lifted at Clare beaches

The temporary prohibition on swimming that had been in place at the following locations has now been lifted:

A young girl has been airlifted to hospital after she got into difficulty while swimming in the sea off Co Clare this afternoon.

Update: Council bathing restrictions and advisories

Clare County Council, on the advice of the HSE, has placed a temporary prohibition on swimming in Kilkee and Quilty (front beach) due to increased bacterial levels in the bathing water.

New Safety on the Water website launched

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD has launched the newly updated Safety on the Water website - www.safetyonthewater.gov.ie.

RNLI assists six people on grounded cruiser

The crew of the Lough Derg RNLI launched this afternoon to assist 6 adults on board a 42ft cruiser which was reported to have run aground on the lake.
