TY students asked to brew and bake for Milford Hospice Homecare

Catherine Fulvio is encouraging Transition Year students in Clare to get brewing and baking in support of Milford Hospice Homecare as part of Together for Hospice’s biggest fundraiser.

The celebrity chef has thrown her support behind Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice which will take place nationally on September 26 raising funds for hospice and homecare services across Ireland.

And there is a real sweetener for students in Clare to organise one in their school – two free places are up for grabs on Catherine’s 13-week TY online cookery course plus a cash prize of €250 for the winning school.

“There is a lot of momentum in TY to understand about charities and giving back,” said the mum-of-two. No matter what happens in life, most of us know someone who has been in a Hospice; it brings great comfort to the family and a patient to have a Hospice to care for them.”

She told how her mother Mary received Hospice care before her death in 1998.

“We were very grateful to have them to help us and give us quality time with our mum. It took the pressure off a lot.”

To be in with a chance of winning two places on the TY course, plus a €250 cash prize for your class or school, TY classes in Clare need to register their coffee morning here or contact their local hospice.

Any TY class that returns the proceeds of their event before November 29 will be entered into the draw.

Terms and conditions of the competition can be found here…
