Irish author Roisin Meaney will celebrate the publication of her latest book with a special reading at Gallagher’s in Bunratty.
Roisin will join Gallagher’s on Saturday the 16th of July at 2pm for a reading from The Reunion and a chat about her works to date. There will be musical accompaniment, light refreshments and all are welcome to attend this free event.
General Manager at Gallagher’s and JP Clarke’s, Barry Tierney expressed his delight that one of their regular visitors would be celebrated at the popular venue. “We are delighted to celebrate Roisin, a regular visitor to us, and her literary achievements at this. We hope her readers, new and old, will join us for this afternoon of good writing, chat and refreshments to mark the occasion of The Reunion’s publication”.
Commenting on the event Roisin said “I was thrilled to be contacted by Barry – and charmed to be associated with a place with such an excellent reputation as Gallagher’s to celebrate the publication of my thirteenth book. The event promises to be a really lovely occasion, and I’m hoping that lots of readers will come and help me send my newest arrival into the world”.
Meaney whose parents hail from Clare was born in Listowel but is now based in Limerick. Her first novel ‘The Daisy Picker’ was released in 2004. Since then she has released twelve more books and quit her job as a teacher to become a full-time writer.
Her latest release is described as a moving story about secrets and sisters.
