Inclement weather conditions have forced the closure of one of the most popular attractions of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Inis 2016.

The Mirazozo Luminarium at Active Ennis Tim Smythe Park will be closed on Sunday due to safety concerns with the forecasted bad weather.

Clare County Council has confirmed that more than 12,500 people have visited the Luminarium during the Fleadh.

Designed by Alan Parkinson, the structure has been visited by more than 2 million people in 43 countries around the world at iconic locations such as the Guggenheim in Spain and the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

Inspired by Islamic architecture and natural geometry, Mirazozo features winding passages of small domes inspired by repeat forms found in the bazaars of Iran. Inside the spaceship-shaped structure is a multi-coloured world of bright luminous green, red and blue stripes of light forming bouncing patterns of colour on the walls of five interlinked domes.
