Awarding-winning radio station Clare FM has been shortlisted for a prestigious international accolade, continuing an impressive run of global recognition that has seen the station bring home four New York Radio Awards in the past five years.
The station’s documentary “112” has secured a nomination at the New York Radio Festival Awards.
Produced by Programme Director Padraic Flaherty, the documentary tells the extraordinary story of Damien Browne’s solo transatlantic row, a gruelling journey that saw him spend over 112 days at sea after setting off from New York.
Battling extreme weather, isolation, physical exhaustion and repeated equipment challenges, Browne rowed thousands of kilometres across the Atlantic before finally reaching the west coast of Ireland.
Often described as the “World Cup” of radio awards, the New York Radio Festival Awards will see Clare FM competing alongside some of the world’s largest broadcasters.
The winners will be announced at the Storytellers Gala in New York on May 21st, 2026.
