Gardaí in Clare have issued a warning to the owners of a particular model of car to take security precautions.
Gardaí have confirmed that a number of Toyota Aqua cars have been stolen in the region in recent times.
Today, a Toyota Aqua car was stolen from the carpark at Aldi in Ennis shortly before 4pm. The vehicle was very quickly recovered by the Clare Divisional Task Force in the Corbally area of Limerick.
An investigation into this unauthorised taking of the car is ongoing.
Confirming the prompt recovery of the car, Gardaí said: “There have been a number of thefts of Toyota Aquas in the region in the last while. We would advise owners to install immobilisers or steering lock and chain to deter thieves.”
Anyone who saw any persons acting suspicious or witnessed the theft of a blue Toyota Aqua from the Aldi carpark this afternoon, is asked to contact Ennis station at 065 684 8100.
