Over €1000 worth of damage has been caused following an attack on Corofin Community Hall on Saturday night.

Four windows were smashed at the North Clare hall with a fire window and window frame also damaged. A statement posted on Corofin Community Hall & Field’s official facebook page on Sunday afternoon outlined that the organisation is intending to prosecute those responsible. “It is with great regret, sadness and disappointment that I report the mindless act of wanton vandalism at YOUR Corofin Community Hall last night”.

It continued “This was a prolonged attack with the walls and doors pock-marked where other rocks missed their target. We need you help to identify the culprits and be assured if we identify who did this there we will be no softly softly approach. WE INTEND TO PROSECUTE!”

The hall is wired for CCTV but due to an overrun on building costs its use has been hindered Volunteers at the facility say they have no choice now but to ensure that a proper CCTV system is put in place.

Individuals involved with Corofin Hall are requesting for those with information to come forward.
