Gardaí across Clare are investigating a number of incidents and are asking the public to contact them if they have any information that might assist with their inquiries.
Crime Prevention Officer for Clare Sergeant Catriona Holohan outlined the details of the various incidents.
– Gardaí at Ennis Garda Station are investigating a burglary that occurred just after 11pm on Thursday, 4th June in the Orchard Lane estate in Ennis. Gardaí were alerted to this incident by a neighbour who reported suspicious behaviour.
Gardaí immediately responded and a male in his late 30’s was arrested in the property. This offender was detained at Ennis Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and he was later charged and appeared before Ennis District Court the following day, the 5th June.
Whilst we have a person charged with this offence, it is vital that if anyone this morning has any additional information, CCTV or dash-cam footage of this male in the Orchard Lane area, please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
– Ennis Gardaí are also investigating two burglaries that occurred at a site at Cnoc an Clár, Clarecastle on Thursday, 6th June between 6pm and midnight. Significant damage was caused to two properties in the site. If anyone observed someone on the site in Clarehill on Thursday evening or a vehicle near the site, please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
Ennis
Gardaí in Ennis are investigating damage to a vehicle that was parked on Steele’s Terrace between Tuesday evening at 5pm and Wednesday morning at 10.3am on the 6th June. A wing mirror was damaged on a beige coloured Peugeot 508, saloon style.
Shannon
Shannon Gardaí are currently investigating criminal damage to a residential property in Tullyvarraga Hill estate in Shannon on Wednesday afternoon between 1pm and 3pm. In this instance, the garden wall was completely knocked over causing significant damage. Gardaí in Shannon are currently reviewing CCTV but are appealing to anyone that may have information regarding this crime to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900.
Gardaí in Ennis are also investigating criminal damage and attempted theft from a vehicle between Thursday evening at 5pm and Friday morning at 11am. This vehicle was parked outside the owner’s home on Patrick Street in Clarecaslte. The fly window on the driver’s side of this silver Toyota Aqua hatchback was smashed and the perpetrator then gained access to the vehicle.

Killaloe
Killaloe Gardaí are investigating the theft of a trailer from The Brook estate in Ballina on Wednesday, 5th June between 4pm and 6pm. The make of the stolen trailer is Indespension and it is described as an 8 by 4 single axle trailer with creels and tailboard and it is silver in colour.
Gardaí in Killaloe are also investigating the theft of a second trailer. This theft took place at midnight on Thursday night in the Cnoc Cluain estate in Ballina. The owner described his trailer as a low based trailer with an H ramp and black and silver in colour.

Tulla
Tulla Gardaí are investigating criminal damage and theft from a vehicle in the Powercourt estate in Tulla. This incident took place between midnight on Tuesday night and 6am on Wednesday morning. A white Peugeot Expert Van was broken into and a number of items were taken from the vehicle.
Ennistymon
Gardaí in Ennistymon are investigating the theft that occurred at Ocean View Caravan Park, Lahinch last Tuesday, 4th June at 11.19pm. A door and window were removed from a holiday caravan and further damage was caused in the caravan. Gardaí are currently viewing CCTV and Ennistymon Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have seen this incident or has information in relation to it, to please contact Ennistymon Garda Station on 065 7072180.
