Gardaí in Clare are seeking the public’s assistance with their investigations into a number of crimes that were committed within the division over the past week.
Crime Prevention Officer for Clare, Sergeant Caitriona Holohan outline the circumstances of the various incidents.
Scariff – Gardaí based in Scariff are investigating a burglary that occurred in the Steiner School at Raheen Wood, Tuamgraney between Friday at 3.30pm and Saturday morning at 11am. The school was entered and the perpetrator forcefully gained access to the school office. A large blue cashbox was forced open and a sum of money was taken from it.
A cheque book and bank card were also taken in the name of the Steiner School and we are appealing to anyone that may have seen a person or a vehicle in the Raheen Wood area or may work in a commercial premises where the Steiner bank card or cheque book was used, to please contact Scariff Garda Station on 061 922790.
Ennis – Gardaí in Ennis are investigating two incidents where vehicles were damaged between the 19th and 20th June. The first investigation relates to damage that was caused to a silver Opel Corsa on Marian Avenue at 2am on Thursday morning. This vehicle was set on fire and Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have seen anyone in the Marian Avenue area or witnessed this crime in the early hours of Thursday morning to please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
The second incident involves criminal damage to a white Toyota Aqua that was parked in Shannon Park. The rear driver’s side fly window of this vehicle was damaged between Wednesday evening at 8pm and Thursday morning at 8am.
Ennis Gardaí are also investigating damage that was caused to a residential property in Hermitage between Saturday evening at 8pm and Sunday morning at 10.30am. The front window of this home was damaged and Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have any information in relation to this crime to contact Ennis Garda Station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
Kilrush – Gardaí in Kilrush are investigating damage that was caused at the rear of a residential property on Wilson Road. This incident occurred yesterday, Monday between 11.30am and 2pm. The perpetrator would have been in the rear garden for a period of time and Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have seen anyone on Wilson Road between these times to contact Kilrush Garda Station on 065 9080550.
Ennis – Gardaí in Ennisare investigating the theft of appliances from two campervans that were parked in the Quin Road Industrial Estate. These vehicles, both Volkswagen Campervans, were parked up on Tuesday evening, 18th June at 5pm and between that time and 10.30am the following morning these items were stolen.
If anyone observed any persons or vehicles near this white Crafter campervan on Tuesday night or Wednesday, please contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100.
Ennistymon – Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to an incident of fraud involving bogus tradesmen. On Wednesday, 19th June at approximately 1pm a number of men presented to a family home in Kilcornan, Ennistymon.
They undertook to complete work on the home and a short time later took a sum of money from the home owner. The works were not completed and initially the injured party did not come forward as she wasn’t threatened, however, this is a crime.
Gardaí are appealing this morning for anyone that may have observed a small white van in the Kilcornan area of Ennistymon last Wednesday afternoon.
