Man treated in hospital following Ennis assault

GardaĆ­ are investigating an alleged assault that resulted in a teenage boy requiring hospital treatment.

The incident occurred in the Clancy Park area of Ennis on Monday afternoon.

A video has been circulated on social media platforms showing a bloodied scene apparently in the driveway of a domestic residence.

GardaĆ­ have confirmed that a male has been treated in hospital. The scene was preserved by GardaĆ­ for technical examination.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed: ā€œGardaĆ­ have received report of an alleged incident of assault at a park earlier this afternoon in Ennis. Co. Clare.

A number of people were involved in an altercation between 1.45pm and 2.45pm yesterday afternoon.

A man in his 30s sustained significant injuries and was subsequently taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

GardaĆ­ have carried out follow-up searches however no weapons have been seized and no arrests have yet been made.

GardaĆ­ are appealing to anyone who may have observed the incident or road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who may who may have camera or dash cam footage to come forward.

GardaĆ­ say ā€˜enquiries are ongoing.’
