Minister for Employment and Small Business Pat Breen congratulated Cuan An Chlair Ltd as it secured substantial funding to build ten new housing units.

“Cuan an Chlair is not just an organisation that provides safe and secure accommodation for older people in Ennis and the environs while ensuring people can live independently and with dignity, but it also celebrates the contribution older people have made and continue to make to society,” Breen stated.

The 1.6 million for Cuan An Chlair announced by the Department of Housing follows on from an allocation of almost €4 million for Local Authority Housing in Clonlara and Feakle earlier this month.

Cuan an Chláir is a project to build and run a Day Care Centre and sheltered housing for the elderly of Ennis and its environs on grounds near Cahercalla Community Hospital, Ennis.
