Last chance to visit Ardschoil Mhuire before new school is built

Past staff and students of Ardscoil Mhuire in Corbally are being invited back for one last look around the building before it is demolished to make way for a new school.

The event will take place on on Saturday 17th of May.

Ardscoil Mhuire, located closed to Limerick’s border with Clare, has been serving its community for nearly a century. While it was initially located in Bishop Street, the school relocated to its current location in Corbally in 1977.

Ardscoil Mhuire has a very long and established history of fostering academic excellence and nurturing the holistic development of all those in its care. The Ardscoil Mhuire school community is one which spans many decades and comprises people from far and wide including parts of Co Clare.

The school is now about to embark on another major adventure. The current school will be relocating to temporary accommodation over the summer break. The existing buildings will be demolished and replaced by a multimillion euro state of the art school campus.

Prior to this demolition taking place, Ardscoil Mhuire would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our extensive school community, past and present – trustees, staff, students, parents and members of our local community. The opening up of the school to this wonderful community will afford us all the chance to walk down memory lane, share our memories, and catch up with friends from the past and present.

Ms Bríd Herbert, Principal, adds, “As a past student, now Principal, I’m lucky to have daily reminders of my time as part of this wonderful school community.  Therefore, I’m proud to open up our current school building, one last time, for those who wish to join us in reflecting on their own treasured school memories.”

The school will be open to the community from 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm on Saturday the 17th of May 2025. We would love to see you there.”
