A section of the main Ennis to Scarriff road remains closed this morning following a serious road traffic collision.
The single-vehicle incident occurred shortly before midnight on the R352 at Ballinahinch close to Lough Brigid.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Scarriff station responded to the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and GardaÃ.

The road remains closed between Ballinahinch Cross and the junction of the R352 with the L8211 at Kilnoe. Traffic is being diverted via alternative routes.
It’s understood that one person has been seriously injured.
The road is expected to remain closed for most of the morning.
