Emergency services responded to multiple traffic collisions this morning after temperatures plummeted overnight, leaving roads in a treacherous condition.
The first incident was reported at around 7.45am on the N85 Ennistymon to Ennis road near the turn off for Corofin and Clouna Church.
Two cars were involved in that collision however no injuries have been reported.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennistymon station responded to the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí.
The road was closed for a time but was fully reoponed shortly after 9.00am. Road conditions in the area at the time were treacherous with freezing fog also reported.
At around the same time, a car was reported to have left the road near Inagh. The car crashed through a ditch and came to a stop in a field.
Fire crews from Ennis responded to the scene along with paramedics and Gardaí. On arrival they found that the driver has escaped from the vehicle uninjured.

The N85 Ennis to Ennistymon road remains in a dangers condition at several locations although Clare County Council staff have been gritting the route since the collisions.
Conditions on the R476 Ennis to Kilfenora road are also said to be poor.
Caution is urged today and again overnight when temperatures are expected to dip as low as -2 degrees.
