Killaloe Coast Guard members responded to the search area where they joined up with volunteers from Tipperary Search and Rescue and a large search was conducted.

At around 1am, the missing person was located and after being assessed by paramedics, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment

Meanwhile, earlier today, Killaloe Coast Guard was tasked for the second time in less than 18 hours.

At around 11am the team was requested to respond to reports of a 20ft vessel taking on water in a harbour close to their station at Pier Head in Killaloe.

A shore crew responded by road, transporting salvage pumps to the scene. However, on arrival, the boat had unfortunately already taken on too much water and the crew were unable to assist and were stood down.
