The vessel was towed off the rocks and back to the pier at Tarbert. There was no one on board the vessel at the time.
Meanwhile, the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was also called into action a short time later.
The Dromineer based was mobilised at around after a 36ft cruiser, with tow people on board, ran aground on Sunk Island behind Illaunmor.
The lifeboat crew took the vessel on tow to deeper water and checked to ensure the hull hadn’t been breached.
