A search for a boat in difficulty on Lough Derg has been called off after nothing was found.
The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat, based at Dromineer on the Tipperary shore, was alerted at 12.45pm by the Irish Coast Guard marine rescue coordination centre on Valentia Island in Kerry.

A member of the public had contracted An Garda to report a boat adrift by Williamstown Harbour on the Clare Shore. Gardaà passed the call onto the Coast Guard.
After and extensive search no boat found.
According to the RNLI, all boats in the area at the time were under way and making way.
The search was stood down shortly afterwards.
