R469 Ennis to Quin road reopens following collision

Update: The scene has now been cleared and the road reopened.

Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis this evening.

The two-car collision, reported at around 5.30pm, occurred at Ballaghboy Cross on the R469 Ennis to Quin Road.

Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service and Gardaí also responded to the incident. The National Ambulance Service was also alerted.

Once it was confirmed that no one had been injured, the ambulance service was stood down.

The road remains closed as both vehicles are blocking both lanes.

Efforts are underway to clear the scene.
