Two people were injured in a road traffic collision in West Clare this afternoon.
The two car collision occurred on the N68 Ennis to Kilrush road in the townland of Frure. The crash happened at a junction about a kilometre west of Lissycasey.
National Ambulance Service paramedics; units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station and Gardaí responded to the incident.
Paramedics assessed the occupants of both vehicles at the scene before two people were later transported to hospital for further treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
Traffic flow was maintained at the scene where a stop/go management system was put in place. The road was closed temporarily while the vehicles were recovered from the scene.
The road was reopened shortly before 6.00pm after the scene had been cleared of debris.
