On Saturday, he will join journalist and broadcaster John Cooke in glór to chat about his Everest ascent and raising awareness for Elevate, the charity he and his wife Aoibhín Garrihy founded.

John took on the challenge, partly to fulfil a personal dream, but also to raise awareness and funds for the charity, which promotes wellbeing among young people.

Above 8000mtrs humans cannot survive. Any time spent in the death zone is a battle for survival as organs and the body begin to shut down.

John’s final days on Everest working the death zone was a race against time but on the 16th May the Clare Flag was raised by John Burke on the top of The world.

John Burke will share the full story of adventure and resilience this Saturday at glór, all in aid of Youth Wellness in Co Clare. Elevate the Conversation, tickets on glor.ie or call 065 6843103.
