Wednesday, 10.30am – Volunteers from the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard have returned to Ardnacrusha to resume their search for the missing man.
The Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, also joined the search this morning. Volunteers from Tipperary Search and Rescue also joined the search.
Wednesday, 12.25am – A search will resume this morning for a person reported missing in South East Clare on Tuesday afternoon.
Gardaà from Henry St in Limerick City were alerted late yesterday and mobilised units to carry out an initial search for a man last seen in the vicinity of the lower River Shannon close to Ardnacrusha power station.
The Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard was tasked at around 8.45pm and requested to assist in the search operation. Volunteers mobilised to the scene by road and launched a boat to conduct a search of the river and shoreline.
Coast Guard land search team members also walked the riverbank while colleagues launched a drone to carry out an aerial survey of the area.
The search was called off shortly after 11.00pm and was is to resume this morning.
