Sixmilebridge Youth Club’s annual pantomime will be held in the local GAA hall over the next two weekends.
This year’s production, ‘The Pied Piper’, is expected to draw large crowds and full houses can be expected. All shows begin at 8pm, except the Saturday 25th show which is a 6pm matinee.
The panto tells the story of the Pied Piper, who is called upon by Howdy Doody, Mayor of Dublin, to lead a plague of rats away from the city.
Aside from the rat infestation, the Mayor also has to contend with a challenge for his job from market trader Molly Malone, in the guise of the traditional panto dame. Expect high quality singing, dazzling dance routines and plenty of comedy from the cast.
More than 60 young people from Sixmilebridge and Kilmurry will showcase their talents in the panto, which is written and directed by Frances Downes, with Suzanne Carmody, Lorraine Naughton and Ray Maxwell also on the production team, and Lauren Kelly on choreography.
Tickets are available at €7 (€5 for the matinee) from youth club members and local shops in Sixmilebridge.
A limited supply of tickets can be bought at the door on the show nights, but patrons are advised to purchase their tickets in advance.
