Rape Crisis Midwest will hold a Volunteer Information Evening on Wednesday, 27th September, 7.00pm, in their Limerick centre.

The centre is located in Phoenix House, Punches Close, Rosbrien Road, Limerick. This is a great opportunity to visit our centre and learn more about the work we do and people are encouraged to come along and learn more about various volunteering opportunities available.

Voluntary positions include that of psychological support work, court accompaniment, volunteer counselling, event co-ordination and much more. We would also like to stress that this is an information evening in nature, with no pressure to sign up for positions. Volunteering can be an incredibly fulfilling experience, and also presents opportunities to meet kind and compassionate people along with learning and growing new skills.

A spokesman said: “Our service currently helps over 80 survivors of rape and sexual abuse each week, with this number always changing and unfortunately often rising. We acknowledge that without the continuing support of a group of dedicated volunteers it would not be possible to maintain our core services and support – support that can even act as a lifeline during times of crisis for our clients. With this, we would like to sincerely thank all past and present volunteers within the charity for their selfless work.”

We would ask that anyone interested in attending the Volunteer Evening contact Mark at administration2@rapecrisis.ie or call 1800 311511.
