Clare County Council has received confirmation from the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht of its decision to finance conservation works on three protected buildings in private and civic ownership in Clare.
The funding announcement follows Clare County Council’s call for applications from around the County in relation to the Structures at Risk Fund 2017.
The buildings in receipt of funding are Ross House, Ross O’Briensbridge (€8,000), Barntick House, Clarecastle (€8,000), and Mount Ievers Court, Sixmilebridge (€15,000).
Brian McCarthy, Senior Planner, Economic Development, Clare County Council: “The purpose of the Structures at Risk Fund is to assist with works to safeguard structures protected under the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended).
This includes works to proposed protected structures, and in certain cases, works to safeguard structures within Architectural Conservation Areas where an urgent need for works to such structures has arisen.”
