Wednesday, 11.40am – The temporary Bathing Advisory Notice that had been in place at Lahinch has been lifted with immediate effect.
The bathing restrictions at the above locations have been lifted following analysis and on the advice of the HSE.
Clare County Council advises that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.

Saturday, 12.30pm – The swimming prohibition at Kilkee, Spanish Point and White Strand Miltown Malbay has been lifted however bathing restrictions remain in place at Lahinch.
While the temporary prohibition on swimming at Lahinch has been revised to an advisory note not to swim, it is advised not to swim at Lahinch.
Clare County Council advises that the safest place to swim is at lifeguarded locations.

Clare County Council has been forced to issue a no-swimming notice for several beaches in Clare after restrictions were only lifted on Tuesday.
The local authority has confirmed this morning that on the advice of the HSE, has placed a temporary prohibition on swimming at Lahinch, White Strand Miltown Malbay, Spanish Point and Kilkee due to increased bacterial levels in the bathing water. The situation is being monitored regularly and the prohibition on swimming will remain until further notice.
The risk from increased bacterial levels is a result of run-off from the catchment area after heavy rainfall.
