Muhammad Ali’s ancestral home of Turnpike will hold a special remembrance service in his memory on Friday evening.
Commencing at 7pm, the service will take place close to the Muhammad Ali monument which was unveiled by the greatest in September 2009 when he was named the first Honorary Freeman of Ennis.

Key organisers behind the remembrance included Mayor of Ennis at the time of Ali’s visit, Frankie Neylon plus Turnpike resident and former Ennis Town Cllr Michael Guilfoyle. Fr. Ger Fitzgerald will conduct the service.
A book of condolence remains open at Áras Contae an Chláir until 5pm on Friday evening.
