Kilfenora will take on Kildysart in the final of the Clare Intermediate Football Championship.
Kildysart overcame the challenge of 2015 beaten finalists Kilmihil. Second half goals from Neil O’Connor and Ger Kelly were crucial in their comeback and they added a third just before the final whistle to seal the win. It finished 3-07 0-11 in their favour. Kilmihil led at the break by four points but paid the price for missed chances.
Kilfenora qualified for their first Clare IFC final in sixteen years when they had too much for Shannon Gaels. The Gaels who were relegated from the Senior ranks in 2015 were unable to keep up with their counterparts who ran out winners on a scoreline of 2-09 0-05 with the Malone’s Killian and Aidan getting the all-important goals.
