Meelick’s Kevin Hartnett will make his first start of the Allianz National Football League Division 2 this Sunday.

Clare welcome Down to Cusack Park for a 2pm throw-in on Sunday. The visitors come into the game off the back of a nine point defeat to Fermanagh while Clare secured a draw in their opening fixture against Derry.

Colm Collins has made one change from the side that got a share of the spoils and easily could have picked up the full two points. Hartnett has recovered from a shoulder injury and slots in at full-back, Kilrush Shamrock’s John Hayes moves to the corner with Dean Ryan being pushed out to the wing as Cian O’Dea makes way.

Lissycasey’s Joe Hayes impressed between the posts last weekend and the long-serving netminder continues in the position this week. Martin McMahon completes the full-back line while Ryan, Gordon Kelly and Liam Markham make up the half-back line.

Ciarán Russell kicked two points in his first competitive game for Clare since 2015 and he partners Gary Brennan in the middle of the park. Coolmeen’s Cathal O’Connor does not make the named fifteen following the recent removal of his appendix.

Once more David Tubridy is given the number eleven jersey and will be flanked by Sean Collins and Shane Brennan. Corofin’s Jamie Malone hit the back of the net in Derry and will be hoping to do the same as will Eoin Cleary and Keelan Sexton who form the inside line. A total of ten clubs have representatives on the starting fifteen.
