Treacy’s West County Hotel hosted Monday evening’s gathering of Clare GAA where the draws took place for the respective championships of the senior hurling plus senior and intermediate football.
It was a fine example of the underdog story coming to life as St Josephs Doora/Barefield overcame Broadford to return to the Clare SHC for 2017, a defining moment came when Alan O’Neill kicked the sliotar to the back of the net to put the Parish on course.
St Josephs Doora/Barefield overcame a fancied Broadford outfit to win the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship and secure their return to the senior ranks for 2017.
Beaten 2015 Clare IHC finalists Broadford are on course to avenge their defeat to Wolfe Tones as they advanced to the final with a five point win over Tubber.
