Five University of Limerick (UL) students have been awarded scholarships under a newly established Intel Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship program.

Two Co Clare students, studying at the University of Limerick, have been awarded scholarships by technology giant Intel which has a facility in Shannon.

All over Ireland in the past number of weeks we have seen communities come together to look after one another in so many ways – volunteers helping others to get their shopping and medicines, people fundraising for the frontline, everybody obeying the restrictions to help our fellow citizens stay healthy, together in spirit but apart physically.

Students from Knockanean National School in Ennis took a runners-up award at the recent Intel Mini Scientist Grand Final.

Eight organisations across Clare will benefit from Intel grants securing almost €14,000 between then.

Students from across Ireland took part in the Intel Mini Scientist Grand Final, an event which is the culmination of a nationwide competition which has been running since September 2018.
