Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has asked Clare County Council to work with local communities, business interests and state bodies to secure a significant share of €5 million Government fund to support Rural Economic Development.
A new Government Plan will provide major opportunities for communities all over Clare to make use of school buildings and resources for after-school child care and a range of locally-based activities.
One third of drinking water in Co Clare is lost to leakage and householder across the County are being encouraged to make use of a free service to bring down this number.
