Search mounted after red flare seen in Galway Bay

A search was launched in Galway Bay this evening following reports that a red flare between the Aran Islands and the mainland.

RNLI launched to aid cruiser in difficulty 

The Irish Coast Guard requested Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat to launch to assist 2 people on a 27ft cruiser suffering engine trouble in the rough weather conditions. The cruiser was reported to be one nautical mile north of Illaunmor.

Lifeboat assists two people on disabled cruiser

The Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was called on to assist two people on a 27ft cruiser reported to have suffered mechanical issues  engine failure off Mountshannon Harbour in Co Clare.

The volunteer crew of the Lough Derg RNLI lifeboat was called out to assist 8 adults on a 45ft cruiser that ran aground on the lake last night.

Four rescued from grounded boat on Lough Derg

Lough Derg RNLI assisted 4 people on a 23ft cruiser suffering engine failure and swept in on the Black Rocks, west of Holy Island in Scarriff Bay, Lough Derg.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD has launched the newly updated Safety on the Water website - www.safetyonthewater.gov.ie.

RNLI assists six people on grounded cruiser

The crew of the Lough Derg RNLI launched this afternoon to assist 6 adults on board a 42ft cruiser which was reported to have run aground on the lake.
