archaeologyMembers of the public interested in the science and practice of archaeology are being invited to participate in free workshops being held at Clare Museum in Ennis on Friday 26 August.

“Previously, the workshops were held for the benefit of transition-year students in local schools,” said John Rattigan, Curator of Clare Museum. “These are now available at the Museum for the general public during Heritage Week 2016 and are held in conjunction with the Heritage Office of Clare County Council, supporting its aim of raising heritage awareness throughout the county.”

“The workshops will be of interest to those who are curious about what an archaeologist does, or who are considering archaeology as a career. However, as space is limited to 12 people per workshop, places must be booked in advance and will be made available on a first-come-first-served basis,” added Mr. Rattigan.

Bookings can be made at claremuseum@clarecoco.ie or telephone 065-6823382.
