Tulla 2-12
Inagh/Kilnamona 1-12
Venue: O’Garney Park, Sixmilebridge

Underdogs in this second round fixture, Tulla have confirmed their position in the third round of the Clare SHC. The weather really took from this fierce intense game but the players did their best to entertain the fans who travelled to a windswept Sixmilebridge. Tulla opened the scoring but both sides traded blow for blow before Inagh-Kilnamona got the crucial breakthrough.

A well struck sideline by Brian Foudy was grabbed and hammered past Daniel Vaughan by inter-county player David Fitzgerald. Tulla who were plying the long ball system to David McInerney wasn’t having that effect they were hoping it would have and moved Mc Inerney out the field for him to start altering the match. Inagh-Kilnamona were the happier of the two at the interval as they lead 1-08 to 0-09.

Tulla came out of the blocks in remarkable fashion, Darragh Corry’s shot was saved out by Patrick Kelly to the on-rushing Colin Corbett for him to flick past Kelly in the Combo goal. On thirty five minutes the game changer occurred as David Fitzgerald received his marching orders for a questionable second bookable offence. This altered the game massively and Tulla tagged on further points via Andrew Quinn through a placed ball.

Inagh-Kilnamona fought their way back into the game with scores from Evan Mc Namara. Tulla released their foot off Inamona’s neck and the sides found themselves level with three minutes remaining. A dubious decision for a foul on an Inagh-Kilnamona forward created the match winner for Tulla. Darragh Corry grabbed the ball and the game by the neck and batted the sliotar past a helpless Kelly.

Tulla advance in the next round while Inagh-Kilnamona battle to save senior status.
