It was a difficult hour for the Mills as they lost four players throughout the Round Three clash, two to red cards and two to injury. On top of that they were minus the services of Patrick Donnellan.

Darragh Corry raised a green flag early on for Tulla but his strike was cancelled out by Michael McGrath on the eight minute. From here they went on to establish a three point advantage inside the opening quarter.

Brian Quinn’s Tulla found their groove before half-time and kept adding the scores. O’Callaghans Mills were reduced to fourteen men before the break as Aidan O’Gorman was given his marching orders for an off the ball incident. At half-time Tulla led 1-08 1-06.

With a two point bridge to gap, the Mills started well but struggled to keep tabs on Cathal Dinan who pushed the men from the Windswept Hill further ahead. It got worse for the Mills as Conor Cooney was shown a red card.

A minute later Andrew Quinn fired past County Minor Killian Nugent for their second goal, Nugent was forced off with an injury. His teammate Jacob Loughnane also had to hobble off and Colin Corbett sealed the win their third green flag.

2007 Champions Tulla now advance to the last eight while a depleted Mills bow out.
