Cratloe’s Shane Gleeson is in the running for the left-half forward position alongside Galway’s Sean Linnan and Niall Mitchell of Westmeath. Gleeson played forty minutes in Clare’s Munster semi-final defeat scoring one point.

Ben O’Gorman from the Wolfe Tones club is one of three nominees for left half-back along with Dublin’s Shane Barrett and Galway man Seán Loftus. O’Gorman was the only Clare defender to keep his marker scoreless while also chipping in with two points in the County’s only outing in the U21 competition this year.

Waterford dominate the shortlist with twelve nominees. Austin Gleeson, Patrick Curran and Stephen Bennett have been announced as the candidates for the Player of the Year award ensuring the accolade will be heading to the Déise County.
