Significant drugs seizure in North Clare

The man arrested in connection with the seizure has been released without charge while a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Earlier: Gardaí in North Clare have recovered an estimated €60,000 worth of drugs during a planned operation on Friday afternoon.

The seizure was made at lunchtime as part of an intelligence led operation at a property at Kylemore near Ennistymon.

A quantity of cannabis, ecstasy and cocaine was recovered by local Gardaí while one man was detained under the Drug Trafficking Act and take to Kilrush garda station for questioning.

The seizure, which has been described as ‘significant’ has been estimated to be worth €60,000 pending analysis.

Chief Reporter Pat Flynn has worked as a journalist for almost 30 years. His career began during the late 1980s when, like many aspiring radio presenters of the time, he worked for local pirate radio stations in Clare and Limerick.
