Gardaí seek public’s help with investigations

Gardaí in Clare are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate a number of incidents of burglary and criminal damage across the county.

Anyone with an information about any of these incidents or who can assist Gardaí in any way, is asked to contact the relevant number listed or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111.

Crime Prevention Officer for Clare Sergeant Catriona Holohan outline the details of the incidents.

Burglary

“Gardaí in Shannon are investigating a burglary that took place in the Carraig Lia estate in Shannon between in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The perpetrators gained access to an exterior shed and a number of tools were stolen including a Tital Hilt Drill, Hercules Red Crow Bar, Dewalt Combo Drill and Impact Drill, Dewalt Circular Saw and Dewalt Hammer Drill. Gardaí believe that a black vehicle was used in the commission of this crime and the window for the crime was between 1.30am and 2.30am on Wednesday morning, 21st August.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed this black vehicle or the perpetrators in the Carraig Lia estate please contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900.

Shannon Gardaí are also appealing for witnesses in relation to a burglary that occurred in the Cluainin Estate in Shannon between Wednesday night at 10pm and Thursday morning at 8am. During the course of this burglary a black BMW X5 jeep was stolen. During the burglary, the perpetrators stole the keys of the vehicle and Shannon Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have 24 hour Dash-Cam footage in their vehicle or CCTV in this estate or Cronan Grove, or any information that could assist Gardaí to please contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900.

Gardaí in Killaloe are investigating a burglary at a commercial premises on Ballyheefy Road, Ogonnelloe on Thursday Morning, the 22nd August between 1.55am and 2.30am. Killaloe Gardaí are appealing to the public for their assistance. Did any one observe a vehicle in the Ballyheefy Area between 1.55am and 2.30am last Thursday morning or on the main Killaloe to Ogonnelloe road? If anyone has any information, CCTV or Dash-Cam footage that covers this area during this time, please contact Killaloe Garda Station on 061 620540.

Criminal Damage

Shannon Gardaí are investigating damage caused to a vehicle in the Cul Na Greine estate last Tuesday morning, 20th August at 3.49am. The owner of the vehicle had parked their grey Ford Focus outside their home and the perpetrator smashed the front windscreen of the vehicle. Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed this incident or has any information that could assist the investigation, to please contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Gardaí in Shannon are also investigating criminal damage to a residential property on Ballycasey Avenue. The owner of the property discovered damage to the lock mechanism on a door to the side of their property. This damage took place between Wednesday evening at 8pm and Thursday morning at 7.30am. If anyone observed a vehicle or a person on Ballycasey Avenue on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, please contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365900.

Theft

Gardaí in Ennis are investigating a theft that occurred at Kilclogher, Kilmaley on Wednesday evening at 4pm. A male driving a grey Volkswagen Jetta was found in a private yard by the owner having come from the Kilmaley church side. He stole a number of items and left the scene. He is described as wearing a long sleeved light coloured top, a dark coloured sleeveless puffer jacket and a grey baseball cap. He left the scene and drove in the direction Ennis. It was also noted that the boot of this grey Volkswagen Jetta wouldn’t close properly and there was damage done to the rear windscreen of the vehicle.

Ennis Gardaí are also investigating the theft of items from a container in the New Park Grove estate in Cappahard on the Tulla Road on Monday morning, yesterday morning, between 1am and 1.30am. The perpetrators gained access to the container and stole a number of items including a generator, two petrol whackers, shower screens and shower T Bars. Gardaí are appealing to anyone that may have observed a vehicle in the New Park Grove estate in the early hours of Monday morning observed a suspicious vehicle in the estate over the last number of days. Theft from Vehicle

Kilrush Gardaí are investigating a theft from a vehicle. This incident took place between last Tuesday evening at 8pm and Wednesday morning at 10.30am. A number of items were taken from a parked vehicle on Pound Street, this vehicle was a silver Volkswagen Passat.
