Clare County Council, on the advice of the HSE, has placed a temporary prohibition on swimming in Kilkee and Quilty (front beach) due to increased bacterial levels in the bathing water.

Council monitoring increased numbers visiting beaches

Clare County Council in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland has established a Clare Tourism Recovery Taskforce to guide the reactivation of Clare as a tourism destination in a tactical response to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Council or OPW should take over Shannon Heritage sites

The possibility of transferring Shannon Heritage sites under the control of the local authority or the Office of Public Works must be “explored and supported” according to a Clare TD.
